Walk Gently Through the Night

Walk gently through the night, my love
For the shadows are dark, and desires darker
Probable sins of future rise
Stealthily from the hidden corners
And hisses all through the house
While a dog howls longingly into the night
And the stars outshine every attempt of clouds
Made to conceal them.

Talk gently into the night, my love
For the ears are more used to
The noise of silences and sighs
Better whisper, if you shall speak
And sleep, before you shall wake.
